02 · Why we built this
It started at dusk.
Home turf · PNW rain
Saanjh (ਸਾਂਝ) is Punjabi for dusk — golden hour, the hour the light goes warm and everything looks built on purpose. It's the only time worth shooting a car, and it's the name this whole thing is built around.
I'm a Punjabi kid in the Pacific Northwest who got obsessed with a right-hand-drive truck most people had never heard of. The PNW car scene is some of the best in the country — JDM, overland, builds that actually see dirt — but it can be cliquey, gatekept, judgmental about what you drive. I wanted to build the opposite of that.
So Saanjh isn't a page that posts other people's cars. We build a real truck in public, give it away to someone in this community, and run real meetups where a base Civic parks next to a built Surf and nobody blinks. No heritage I'm from gets left at the door — it's in the name, the look, the whole thing.
That's the company. The Hilux Surf is just where it starts.
